A family history…
THE FARM
We are Matteo and Marta Mugelli, two very different siblings but with a common passion.
The “Torre Bianca” farm owes its name to an ancient medieval tower villa dating back to 1400. It was purchased by our paternal grandparents, Alvaro and Marina in the late 60s. In those years our father Marco attended the University of Agriculture in Florence and for him it was very stimulating to come into contact with the rural reality that lived in Torre Bianca.
From the early 1970s it became a farm and immediately specialized in the production of Chianti Classico red wine and vinsanto. After graduating and some experiences abroad our father Marco immediately began his personal research and development path in the olive oil sector, which became his greatest passion. The company extends over approximately 17 hectares, of which 6 are olive groves and almost 6 are vineyards, a small organic vegetable garden and a forest with a natural lake. In the following years, it specialized in the production of high-quality extra virgin olive oil, until the opening of the company oil mill in 2005, which allowed Marco not only to realize one of his dreams, but also to put into practice what he had learned during his years of research.
After Marco’s death in 2011, we children try to carry on the family tradition, without giving up on making improvements and innovations given by the new technologies available.
Today we are like a big family, thanks to the contribution of our team: Lorenzo, Stefano, Camilla and Alessandro.
